The Body Shop Reviews – Body Butter and White Musk Eau De Toilette

Body Butter and White Musk Eau De Toilette
I wrote last week about the amazing smell that arrived when I received a box of goodies from the Body Shop Candied Ginger range, but there were also four more surprises in the box, which had hidden smells locked in their containers.

This included three body butters, and a White Musk Libertine Eau De Toilette, which I’ll be lifting the lid on today.

White Musk Libertine Eau De Toilette

First up we have this cute little 30ml bottle of eau de toilette. On first reflection there’s a smell of cleanliness, like a comforting bubble bath. As you apply the perfume it has the soft odour of fresh linen but with a sweeter hue. There’s a third layer of smell, which has a dryness to it, that helps the smell to linger in the air (helping explain the musk part of the title).

This mixture of feeling clean, whilst at the same time sweet is a good combination. Meanwhile the musk like part keeps the smell going for a few hours, which means it’ll still be on show once you’ve finished a long commute to work.

Body Butter Review

I’d imagine 90% of Body Shop customers have tried one of their body butters at one point. It’s the headline product, the one that you have to try at some point, and the one that brings you back for more. If you’ve never tried it before it’s a thick moisturising cream, that absorbs quickly and leaves your skin feeling full of soft fruity smells and refreshed.

What I didn’t know is that the range extends beyond looking nice, and there are variants that suit different skin types. The three products I received cover everything from very dry to normal skin. There’s a mango body butter which has an exotic scent and was the nicest smelling of the three. It’s designed for very dry skin, making it a handy addition to your winter handbag if you feel the worst of the Winter weather on your skin.

Then there’s Shea body butter which is also for very dry skin. This is the best option as it’s designed to last 24 hours, and as such it has a thicker texture than the other body butters. Personally this was my favourite, as it made my hands (which often get chapped) feel great all day, and also had a nice nutty smell.

We also received the Moringa body butter that embodies a flowery scent thanks to the Moringa seed oil contained in it. It also means this is the most flowery scent of the three, and it goes well with the White Musk perfume too. This is the choice for those with dry-normal skin who want to smell like the spring time.
